Reviews for Sousouro Restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 350 reviewsSousouro Restaurant in Kassiopi Bay is widely praised for its authentic Greek cuisine and charming, attentive service, often attributed to the owner or close-knit staff. Visitors consistently highlight the freshness and quality of traditional dishes such as marinated anchovies, Greek salad, sea bream, and standout baklava, making it a memorable dining experience. The restaurant’s rustic, tucked-away location adds to its genuine atmosphere, appealing to those seeking local flavors away from touristy spots. While some feedback notes occasional oversalting, particularly in items like pita bread, this is generally seen as a minor issue amid overwhelmingly positive impressions. The seasonal operation encourages timely visits to enjoy the establishment’s warm hospitality and culinary offerings.
Although hard for us to judge as tourists, this place seemed really authentic. Food was delicious and the guy who served us (we guessed it was the owner?) was very charming.
Absolutely great find in Kassiopi.Probably the only tavern with a real Greek feeling to it in Kassiopi. The food was so great, on both occasions we have visited - we have both forgotten to take any photos! This definitely speaks to the quality and flavours of the dishes here!!We’ve read some reviews about dishes being too salty - and found it’s 100% true for the pita bread - perhaps ask for less salt when ordering it.MAKE SURE TO TRY THE STIFADO!But everything else was superb!Orange pie for sure one of the best ones we’ve had in Greece.
Amazing restaurant just tucked down an alleyway. Menu is great, highly recommend the marinated anchovies, Greek salad, sea bream and stuffed peppers. And their baklava is the best you will eat on the island hands down. Lovely service too. We are going to go back it was so good.
Our group found this place while trying to hunt down some lemon potatoes (harder to find in Greece than you’d expect!) We are so happy we found it, it was extremely tasty and the service was amazing. I’m still dreaming of the pita bread, I could have had it every day. Definitely check this place out!
We loved this restaurant so much we ate there three times during our 1 week vacation! The food was incredible! Authentic Greek cuisine. The staff always made us smile .FYI, this restaurant is only opened seasonal. This year, it closed on October 20th.
Amazing little back street restaurant, it is quite tiny, so you have to book!! We booked on the night, I had moussaka and it was incredible. Would definitely recommend, service was brilliant and everyone was so friendly, I would go back the Saganaki was incredible :)
I'm just finished my meal, and I'm now reclining on a sofa working my way through the meal mentally, you know, in my head the meal was absolutely fantastic best lamb chops I've had so far, the stifado was also amazing, the meatballs good and the spicy Feta was also pretty tasty, but the baklava was on another level.
To us, it was the most traditional restaurant in Kassiopi. They had amazing Greek dishes and very good prices too. The atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing, with beautiful Greek music in the background, and many ventilators and the people were so friendly. The food came always very quickly. The only problem is they are always full. So you probably want to try to reserve a table in advance. Even if you have to wait, it is worth the waiting time.
